I haven't had the experience myself but I have known of others who have lost money as a result of this practice.

We have never had such an experience. However, if the system had crashed,the company would be unable to have any information on Noah.

No, I haven't had that experience or know of anyone who has had this experience. i would not provide the information that was requested. Instead, I would contact the relevant company and report the matter.

Receiving an email saying I have won money (which I may or may not have applied for) and being asked to provide personal and banking information to have the money sent to me. Or being asked to send money for some reason before the winnings are sent to me.
