Noah purchased a laptop from tabletworld.com which is a tablet sales website. After this recent purchase, he receives an email from tabletworld.com asking customers for information because their database “crashed” and lost sales information for the last six months. The email asks for basic information including name and address, but also asks for his password to his account on tabletworld.com website.

  3. We have never had such an experience. However, if the system had crashed, the company would be unable to have any information on Noah.

  7. • Have you ever had an experience of this nature or know anyone who has had this experience? Nope.
    • What options would you consider in a scenario like this? Call the company to verify this claim.
    • Can you identify other scenarios where you might be able to apply your understanding of this matter?
Receiving an email saying I have won money (which I may or may not have applied for) and being asked to provide personal and banking information to have the money sent to me. Or being asked to send money for some reason before the winnings are sent to me.
